and collected 1077 lbs. of food donations!!! Thank

Ferrick, Brad Novack, Meaghan Bernard, Tim

Brooke Blackburn, Lauren Lapointe, Lacie Kraich,

Money Raised by the Annual Buffumville
Ice Bowl

We would like to thank Gary Cyr of Uxbridge for
coordinating the 2014 14th Annual Buffumville Ice
Bowl. This golf disc event took place on Jan. 25,
2014 with 36 players playing two rounds vying for
the Buffumville Ice Bowl Champion award!! ... With
temps dipping in the teens and 20 mile an hour
winds, it was a tight battle that came down to a
playoff for the title. Ice Bowl is a registered
trademark and a portion of each entry fee is
donated to a charity that concentrates on feeding
the hungry. This year the tournament chose our
food pantry to benefit from their tremendous
efforts!!! Through Gary and the other very
dedicated players' efforts, they raised $1,081 and
collected 90 pounds of food!!! Amazing! Thank you
for braving the cold to support our families in need!!

Hannaford Supports Pantry

We would like to thank Hannaford Supermarket for
their constant support and community action on
behalf of the families we serve! Every year
Hannaford sells "Helping Hands" boxes (filled with
healthy food items) to help support local food
pantries. For $10, Hannaford customers purchase
these boxes, which are then distributed to the
Uxbridge, Mendon, Northbridge and Douglas food
pantries. This year, our local Hannaford won a
corporate contest through the Helping Hands
program and was awarded $1,000. Store manager,
Tony Giunta then donated the $1,000 to our food
pantry!!! Thank you to all those who supported this
Helping Hands program!

Hannaford Supermarket sponsors a volunteer
recognition program called Hannaford Health Hero,
which honors volunteers who make a tremendous
difference in their community. Lori Proehl was
awarded this honor on behalf of our pantry. Lori
has spent the last 10 years helping our mission in
so many important ways, such as serving as Vice
President, Volunteer Scheduling coordinator and
Shift Leader. Lori also works tirelessly during our
Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas distributions
as well as helping to coordinate our first annual
wine tasting held last year. We are truly blessed to
have Lori and all of our 70+ volunteers who
dedicate so much of their time and talents to
serving those in need in our community!

The 2012 Annual

sharing their talents to make a difference in the lives
of those in need. Thank you ladies!!
